I'm really glad uber still has a chance for survival, would be such a shame to see it go. So I thought I should start bloggin it up, promised myself I would anyway.
So I've known Kai for a little while now. I shot some photos for he and his crew at the time, Sacred Soil. Knew one of the others from the group. He and I had talked about working together, and we met a few times to talk about what kinds of photos he might like for his upcoming album and myspace layout etc... Shot some stuff over the weekend, and plan to do some more.
The shoot went really well.
We just shot at his apartment, and did a few outside.
This bridge is pretty cool at night, but it was too cold to wait for the blue lights to turn on.
Liked his table, so we shot a few there.
The ones he'll end up using are quite a bit different than these. I'll post some of those once his new myspace layout is all done, and I'll be sure to link that too for anyone who's interested in checking it, hearing his music etc...
I dont listen to a lot of acoustic folk but this guy blows me away! Plenty more of his stuff on Youtube so just search there if you want to find more.
I was recently talking to someone about the war in Iraq and how rediculous it is the way that we act like we own the world. Then the other day I saw Noam Chomsky's latest article from a talk he gave titled just that, We Own the World. (kind of a long article but well worth the read)

Hope everyone had a good new years eve. Mine was good, lots of relxain. Planning on making some big changes for myself in 08, no resolution per se more just a commitment to strive, to exert.
Really hoping I can take some trips soon, had been planning a few trips before I lost my job, but thats the way it goes. I'd like to make it back out to cali this year sometime, and I'll be going out to Stockton Island at least once.
Been a bit discouraged lately. Found out about a month ago I'm getting laid off, Corel has decided to shut down its office here (former Jasc office) and move its development for Paint Shop Pro, elsewhere. Overall its been a good ride, learned a lot about the software industry, made some good friends and met some interesting people, got one of my photos on the PSPX2 box etc... so it does really kind of suck that their closing us down.
Anyway, I'm finding myself going back and forth in my head about what I'm going to do. I really want to make TAKING photos my primary source of income instead of sitting in a damn cubicle all day. I'm feeling really motivated because of the potential to pick up some new camera gear and some of the work I've been doing lately. But I still feel a little lost, unsure how to go about making things happen. Not to mention I lost all of my photos (at least all of the RAW's and PSD's) from my last trip to Stockton Island due to some hard drive issues. Luckily, those were the only photos on that hard drive.
However, today I received some encouraging words from Chris and others who've commented on his blog . The fact that a guy like Chris, who for the most part seems to hate landscapes (I can't really say I disagree with what he has to say on this subject) and whos eye I really respect, would actually enjoy some of my work and share it with others is quite amazing to me.
